Your DIY PR Toolkit – Workshops Now Taking Place

Posted on May 1, 2018

PR is an essential activity for every successful business. It’s not rocket science and you don’t need to spend a fortune to do it well – all you need are a few simple tools.

I’ve teamed up with fellow PR guru Ellan Campbell-Swann to run a series of hands-on PR workshops in Yorkshire and Cheshire. Our DIY PR Toolkit workshop teaches you how to tell your story and generate your own great PR content for your business.

We will help you to focus on your business brand values and start planning a simple yet effective PR strategy for the promotion and marketing of your business. This one-day workshop will help you to identify a range of potential story opportunities and discover the best way to gain free media coverage. We will:

• explain what PR really is and why you should do it

• look at the role of the media and what they want/don’t want

• define what is “news”

• help to establish your brand values and identify potential story opportunities

• examine what a press release is and what it can do for your business

• learn how to increase the chances of your press release being published

• highlight a bunch of rookie mistakes and pitfalls to avoid

• learn what to do next…

Our interactive, hands-on workshop features a practical exercise to help you write your own press release. By the end of the day you will have a draft press release and a DIY PR Toolkit that will really help you to nail it!

What’s more, we will continue to support you in the process of fine-tuning and submitting your press release to the media after the workshop for up to three months.

Here’s what one of our recent Attendees said: “I attended this workshop on behalf of the company I work for and it was fabulous! All you need to know to get you started in writing your own press releases for your business and what to do next. I would highly recommend it. Thank you so much Ellan and Fay.”
